Pasadena Water and Power reported that it received a zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) readiness award from the California New Motor Vehicle Board, the Rose City Report said. The award recognizes communities that expand EV charging infrastructure, offer incentives and public education, and develop clean energy programs to support electric vehicle adoption.
PWP noted it now supports 13 public EV charging sites and offers rebate programs for residential and commercial customers to encourage adoption. "This award recognizes the city's leadership in supporting electric vehicle adoption," the bulletin said.
The announcement followed a report to the City Council on June 8. No monetary award amount or new funding for additional chargers was specified in the broadcast.
