Christina Carpenter moved to accept the second reading; Kelly Millen seconded. The chair called for a vote and the motion carried. The board did not identify additional procedural changes to the policies at the meeting.
The district said the language change was requested by teachers and reviewed with district staff; no implementation timeline beyond the approval was specified at the meeting. Board members thanked outgoing vice president Carrie Freeman for her service during discussion of district business but offered no amendments to the AI language.
The board also approved a routine consent agenda earlier in the meeting (minutes, bills, and FMLA leave items). The meeting adjourned after brief closing remarks.
