Chair Knosalla reported that she and Commissioner Thuening were guests on the Town Square Talk program in December and summarized topics covered, including Partners in Energy, the Oak Awards program, Earth and Arbor Day events, the Mendota Heights annual tree sale and tree canopy program, the urban forestry ordinance, and Valley Park restoration and collaboration. Knosalla said the episode is available on Vimeo and posted to Facebook, Instagram and podcast platforms, and is airing on Ch. 799.
Manager Krista Spreiter announced that a geothermal grant and feasibility study began with a kickoff meeting held that day with consultant HGA. Spreiter also noted that Commissioner Husbands’ term has ended and that she chose not to request reappointment; staff and commissioners thanked Husbands for her service. A new commissioner has been appointed and is scheduled to join the commission for its February meeting. Spreiter reminded the commission that officer elections will occur at the February meeting and Chair Knosalla said she will step away as chair.
Chair Knosalla adjourned the meeting at 7:30 p.m.
No votes or formal motions were taken during the meeting.
