"Our lab coordinator, Corey Ugulis, was selected for the 2026 lab analyst of the year," the law director said, noting the award came through the Ohio Water Environment Association (OWEA) and recognizing Ugulis’s 13 years of service managing the wastewater treatment lab and watershed samples.
On infrastructure, the law director said preconstruction meetings for the wastewater rehabilitation project have taken place, submittals and shop drawings are under review, materials have been ordered and the project remains on the projected timeline. He said the city expects to receive a construction timeline soon, with an estimated groundbreaking for a new equalization basin around mid‑August, and reported no change orders have been required so far.
Council thanked the department for the update and for avoiding additional change orders to date. The report was presented as informational; no formal council action regarding the rehabilitation project was taken at this meeting.
