She said the board was being asked to approve "an extra bit of time, which makes a 12 month MOU period" if they opted to move forward. Camp said the extra four months would allow both parties to continue negotiating binding agreement terms and that the property would continue to serve as a parking lot during the extension.
During discussion, Board member Buck asked whether the developer had indicated how much of the extension they expected to need and whether more requests might follow; Camp said the likely barrier had been "the current financing market" and that staff anticipated returning in the fall to prepare for an October time frame. A motion to direct the city manager to enter the proposed amendment passed by roll call with unanimous affirmative responses announced by the clerk.
