Natrona parks advisory board elects Rob Hill chair; Crystal Bratbold named vice chair

The Natrona County Parks advisory board elected Rob Hill as chairman, Crystal Bratbold as vice chair and Cordell Lisonbee as secretary at its Feb. 13, 2025 meeting.
Board members moved and seconded each nomination and approved the appointments by voice vote. Jim Miller recommended Rob Hill for chair and Doug Irvin seconded the nomination. Members voted in favor without a recorded roll-call tally.
The leadership changes were approved as the board debated whether to send representatives to a Board of County Commissioners work session next week on the future role of the parks advisory board. Chair Doug Irvin said he would continue to run the meeting while the newly elected chair was on the phone and later confirmed the appointments would take effect immediately.
Doug Irvin, who presided over the Feb. 13 meeting, said the nominations were effective immediately. The board also approved the Jan. 9 meeting minutes before moving to reports from the parks director.
Why it matters: The appointments come amid discussion about whether Natrona County should shift authority from the advisory board to a statutory parks board of trustees, a change that would alter who prepares budgets and who sets capital projects. Board members said having current representatives at the Feb. 18 BOCC work session will help ensure the advisory board's institutional knowledge is considered.
The board adjourned after routine closing remarks and thanks to long-serving members and Commissioner North for ongoing support.
