Resident asks commissioners to consider variance for mobile home on two‑acre lot
Summary
A Metter resident asked the commission to consider a variance to allow a mobile home on a two‑acre lot in an AG3 zoning district; county staff advised him to apply to the Planning & Zoning Board because the lot falls short of the 3‑acre minimum and prior grandfathering lapsed.

During the public‑comment portion of the March 2 meeting, G.W. (George W.) Hendrix of 530 Tower Circle asked commissioners to consider a variance to allow a mobile home for his son on his property.
Administrator Bryan Aasheim told the board the property is zoned AG3, which requires a minimum lot size of three acres, and said the parcel contains two acres. Aasheim advised the board and the resident that prior grandfathering for a second residence had expired after the previous house was removed more than six months earlier (the transcript references the prior house removal circa 2015). Mr. Hendrix was advised to submit a variance application to the Planning & Zoning Board.
No formal action on the matter was taken by the commission at the meeting; Mr. Hendrix was given procedural guidance about next steps.
