Bloomington board approves land-use permit, building repairs, parade permit, election workers and Christmas bonuses

At its Dec. 1 meeting the Village Board approved a land-use permit for a new home at 510 2nd Street, accepted a $4,850 repair quote for municipal buildings, authorized the River Ridge Homecoming parade, approved election inspectors for 2026–2027, and approved Christmas bonuses after a closed session.
The Village of Bloomington Board handled multiple routine approvals and personnel matters at its Dec. 1 meeting.
The board approved a land-use permit for Pete Langmeier to raze an existing house and build a new single-family residence at 510 2nd Street; Langmeier had not yet closed on the property but the sale was described as nearly finalized (motion by Al Mergen; second by Dawn Drew).
Trustees also accepted John Klein’s quote for $4,850 to install steel siding on the wastewater treatment plant building and the salt shed; Klein’s bid was chosen because it included electrical work that the other bidder would not perform (motion by Al Mergen; second by Dennis Moris).
Chasity Allen moved and Scott Daentl seconded a motion approving the River Ridge Homecoming parade to travel through downtown; the board authorized staff to apply for necessary permits. Clerk/Treasurer Shawna Atterbury presented and the board approved the slate of election workers for the 2026–2027 term, including chief inspectors Bev Cathman and Linda Hoffman and a list of election inspectors.
The board voted to go into closed session under Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(c) to consider employment and personnel matters and later reconvened in open session. After reconvening, the board approved Christmas bonuses as discussed in closed session (motion by Dawn Drew; second by Chasity Allen). All recorded motions were approved by unanimous voice vote among members present unless otherwise noted.
The board also approved accounts payable and set the caucus for Jan. 5, 2026 with the regular meeting to follow. The board adjourned at the close of business.
