Trustee Andrew Court moved and Trustee Kay Zuleger seconded a motion recommending that the Village Board amend the current ordinance to allow all-terrain vehicles and utility terrain vehicles on State Highway 117 within the Village of Bonduel, between South Street and North Street. The Committee voted unanimously to forward the recommendation to the Board.
The discussion, initiated by Trustee Zuleger, noted that a recent reduction of the speed limit on Highway 117 to 25 mph creates the statutory window for the Village to establish an ATV route on the state highway within village limits. Committee members also noted that the posted speed limit differs in the area around the Kwik Trip convenience store and clarified the proposed route would begin and end near South Street.
The recommendation now goes to the Village Board for consideration; if the Board adopts an ordinance amendment, the Village will create a defined route for ATV/UTV traffic on Highway 117 between South Street and North Street.
