Northfield council adopts two emergency resolutions, approves minutes and observes moment of silence

The Village of Northfield Council on Sept. 9 approved routine legislative items and observed a moment of silence.
Council acknowledged and approved the August 26, 2020 minutes on a motion by Councilperson Alan Hipps, seconded by Nick Magistrelli. Law Director Brad Bryan read two emergency resolutions by title. Resolution No. 2020‑32 authorizes the mayor to accept a donation of property known as 10414 Electric Boulevard from Debra Boose, executor of the estate of Jean M. Kino; council voted to suspend the three‑reading rule and to adopt the resolution on unanimous roll calls. Resolution No. 2020‑36 designates Law Director Brad Bryan as the Public Records Act training designee for the mayor and council members listed in the resolution; council similarly suspended the three‑reading rule and adopted the resolution unanimously.
During new business Councilperson Nick Magistrelli requested a moment of silence to honor City of Cleveland Police Detective James Skernivitz, who had been killed in the line of duty; council observed the moment and later unanimously approved a motion to adjourn. The meeting ended at 8:55 p.m.
