County Administrator Bryan Aasheim presented the financial report for the period ending Jan. 31, 2026, reporting account balances, collections and upcoming obligations.
Aasheim said the General Fund operating account showed a reconciliation error of $1,091.36 that staff will correct after month‑end posting; he reported total General Operational Funds of $7,429,797.57 and a Fund 100 total balance of $9,908,399.62. He noted that FLOST funds had not yet posted but were expected to begin at the end of February and that LOST and SPLOST receipts were running above prior expectations (January SPLOST proceeds were the highest monthly amount to date at $218,112.47). A small draw from 2024 SPLOST Level II may be needed to cover a March jail bond payment of $204,336.88.
On expenditures, Aasheim said overall spending was slightly above target with several departments—Administration, IT and Public Buildings—noted as above typical proportions due to timing of insurance or project costs; he said a budget amendment was being prepared. The board received the report and took no formal fiscal actions beyond approving previously noted contracts and allocations.
