Morgan County certifies 1,030.207 miles of roads to Colorado Department of Transportation

Morgan County Information Systems Manager Karol Kopetzky presented the countys 2024 Road Mileage Certification at the Jan. 7 meeting and said the county will submit the report to the State of Colorado.
Kopetzky said the county is certifying 1,030.207 total miles to the state: 307.056 arterial miles and 723.151 local miles. Of that total, she stated 213.088 miles are paved and 817.119 miles are unpaved. She described completed 2024 projects from the road and bridge department and answered a commissioners question about lane miles vs. centerline miles, noting lane miles include turn lanes and gravel roads are doubled in the lane-mile count.
Commissioner Jon J. Becker moved to approve the 2024 Road Mileage Certification as presented by Kopetzky and Public Works Director Bruce Bass; Commissioner Gordon H. Westhoff seconded and the motion carried 3-0.
