Northfield council adopts emergency insurance resolution and accepts minutes and court reports

On July 8 the Village of Northfield council adopted Resolution No. 2020-21 to renew the village's insurance policies after suspending the three-reading rule; council also accepted the May and June Mayor's Court disbursal reports and approved the June 24 meeting minutes.
At its July 8 meeting the Village of Northfield council took several procedural and legislative actions.
Law Director Brad Bryan read Resolution No. 2020-21, an emergency resolution authorizing the mayor to contract for the village’s insurance policies with Selective, Hanover, Cincinnati, Hudson and Indemnity through Wichert Insurance Agency. Council suspended the three-reading rule on a motion by Councilman Gary Vojtush, seconded by Councilman Nick Magistrelli; roll call votes were recorded as yes (Keith Czerr, Renell Noack, Gary Vojtush, Nick Magistrelli, Alan Hipps, Jenn Domzalski). Council then passed the resolution on a motion by Councilwoman Renell Noack, seconded by Councilman Gary Vojtush; a roll call vote recorded the same yes votes and the resolution was adopted.
Earlier in the meeting Bryan presented the May and June Mayor’s Court monthly disbursal reports. Council accepted those reports on a motion by Councilwoman Renell Noack, seconded by Councilman Nick Magistrelli; all were in favor with none opposed.
Council also approved the minutes of the June 24, 2020 council meeting on a motion by Noack, seconded by Vojtush; roll call votes recorded yes from Czerr, Noack, Vojtush, Magistrelli, Hipps and Domzalski and the minutes were approved.
Bryan read Resolution No. 2020-22, an emergency ordinance amending Section 660.14 of the codified ordinances relating to unclean premises, and recommended no action tonight; he said the ordinance will advance to a second reading at the next council meeting. The meeting adjourned at 8:05 p.m. on a motion by Councilwoman Jenn Domzalski, seconded by Councilwoman Renell Noack; all were in favor.
