At the April 27 meeting of the Frederick County Local Management Board, Amanda Adams reported the Hub Advisory Board’s pilot application was initially submitted for just under $7.2 million but was reduced and will be resubmitted for $5 million. Adams said the hub can retain all 13 spokes under the revised budget but will need two additional positions: a fiscal administrator and a hub school liaison.
Staff reported the FY27 Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) was submitted April 24. The FY27 LMB request for proposals (RFP) was announced as live, with responses due May 6, 2026, before 11:00 a.m. Meeting presenters also announced a virtual presentation on LMB reporting requirements open to all; staff clarified that RFP questions cannot be answered during that presentation.
The board convened but did not reach quorum; as a result, the February 2025 minutes could not be approved and no formal votes occurred. Jay Hessler, Chair, handled procedural matters and called for introductions at the start of the meeting.
Other administrative and community items included announcements about the 36th Annual Children’s Festival attendance and resource distribution, a job resource fair for high-school students, interpreting reimbursement opportunities through the health department, rent-assistance funding up to $1,500 from Advocates for Homeless Families, and a Child Advocacy Center opening for a family-child therapist. The meeting adjourned at 4:05 p.m. The next LMB meeting is scheduled for June 22, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 p.m. at the Department of Social Services.
