Council approves $60,396 change order for Basin IV‑P126 stormwater repairs

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. — The Mendota Heights City Council on Feb. 4 approved a change order not to exceed $60,396.01 for the Basin IV‑P126 stormwater improvement project to repair a failed pipe and reduce karst and bluff-sinkhole risk.
Public Works Director Ryan Ruzek explained the existing pond is a dry pond that was not draining properly because of a failed pipe. The change order covers corrective work under the city’s contract with Winberg Companies LLC. Councilor Lorberbaum moved to approve the change order; Councilor Mazzitello seconded and the motion passed 5–0. Ruzek said the contractor was on site and, if approved, expected to complete the work the following week.
What’s next: Work to proceed immediately; staff will monitor completion and report back to the council.
