The Ridgefield Board of Education approved a set of finance and contract items at its April 16 meeting, including a renewal of the district's food-service management contract and multiple grant and contract awards.
The board renewed its Food Service Management Company contract with The Pomptonian, Inc. for the 2026–2027 school year. The Pomptonian will receive an administrative/management fee of $43,371 (billed in 10 monthly installments of $4,337.10), and the total estimated cost of the contract (food, labor, supplies, other expenses and the management fee) was listed as $841,328.60 in the agenda materials.
The board also approved a professional-services contract with Johnson Soils Company to perform geotechnical engineering services for a retaining-wall replacement at Ridgefield Memorial High School, not to exceed $7,950. The board identified the work as professional services exempt from public bidding under N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-5 and authorized the business administrator to execute the contract.
On routine finance items, the board approved bill lists dated March 27, March 30 and April 16, 2026, and certified payroll for March 2026 totaling $2,822,813.08. The board approved budget transfers for March 2026 totaling $39,380.93 and reviewed and accepted the Cash Report and Board Secretary's Report for month-end reconciliation and certification purposes.
The board accepted a $2,000 award from the New Jersey Farm to School Procurement Initiative and a $66,200 Local Recreation Improvement Grant, a combined $68,200 that the agenda lists as earmarked for school food procurement and weight-room renovation respectively.
Board members voted to approve the listed finance motions as part of the consent agenda; roll-call votes on consent items were recorded in the minutes.
