The board discussed a proposed $1.3 million engineering plan from EMC Engineering to divert stormwater and restore Oak Tree Road but did not approve funding on Jan. 20.
Administrator Bryan Aasheim explained the county’s options, including pursuing the engineering plan to maintain connectivity or abandoning the road. Commissioners expressed concern about potential future development and the long-term implications of either choice. After discussion Chairman Brad Jones moved to table the item to allow further discussions with landowners; Commissioner Jonathan Williamson seconded the motion and it carried 5-0.
The record shows the matter will return to the board after staff completes outreach with adjacent property owners and updates the commission with options and cost implications.
