Candler County approves conditional use permit for Foxboro Kennels in Metter

During the public-comment period, adjacent property owner and county investigator Melvin Ivey said his earlier worries about noise and sanitation had been addressed after meeting with the applicant.
County Administrator Bryan Aasheim summarized the Planning & Zoning Board review and the county’s zoning standards for commercial kennels, and Chairman Brad Jones moved to approve the permit subject to the requirements in Article 4 and Section 504.5 of the zoning ordinance. Commissioner David Morales seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
The permit was approved on the record with the board specifying it must adhere to the zoning ordinance provisions. No conditions beyond the ordinance text were recorded in the meeting minutes.
The board’s approval completes local land-use review; any subsequent compliance or enforcement questions will be handled by county zoning and code enforcement staff.
