The Village Board voted June 11 to create a separate bank account to hold and transact funds for the RDA's WEDC Small Business Development Grant intended for downtown improvements. Clerk/Treasurer Michelle Maroszek explained the options for a checking or money market account and the differences between them before the board approved a checking account by roll call vote.
The dedicated account is a condition of administering the grant program and will isolate grant transactions from general village funds. Trustees approved Resolution 2025-13 unanimously and directed staff to set up the account and manage related transactions in accordance with grant conditions.
Municipal Operations staff also reported that the department will present at a WDEC webinar on the village's successful grant use and that repairs at Cedar Park are delayed to July due to materials lead times. No funding allocations or payment details were recorded in the minutes.
