The Board of Ethics of the City of Cohoes voted on Jan. 14 to re-elect Stanley Szozda as chair and to elect Branden LeQue as vice-chair, and appointed Melody Nadeau as temporary secretary through April 30, 2026.
A quorum of four was present at the Common Council Chambers in Cohoes City Hall when Chair Stanley Szozda called the meeting to order at 6:09 p.m. Erica Twomey moved to accept the minutes of the board's Dec. 10, 2025 monthly meeting; Stanley Szozda seconded the motion and the minutes were accepted.
During the agenda's officer elections, Branden LeQue moved to elect Stanley Szozda as chair, and Erica Twomey seconded; the motion was accepted and passed. Stanley Szozda then moved to elect Branden LeQue as vice-chair, with Nicole Taylor seconding; that motion also passed. The board appointed Melody Nadeau as temporary secretary until April 30, 2026, on a motion by Stanley Szozda and second by Branden LeQue; the motion was accepted and passed.
The board approved its 2025 year-end report and adopted a proposed 2026 meeting schedule — the second Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. — with no objections from members present. The meeting was adjourned at 6:32 p.m. on a motion by Nicole Taylor, seconded by Stanley Szozda. The next Board of Ethics meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 11 at 6:00 p.m.
