The Simsbury Sustainability Committee briefed the Board of Selectmen on New England Smart Energy assessments available to residents and businesses, and the board approved placing a Master Town Agreement with New England Smart Energy Group, LLC on the consent agenda March 23.
Bayard Faithfull of the Sustainability Committee presented information about the New England Smart Energy program and available energy assessments. Selectmen engaged in a brief question-and-answer period. Later, First Selectman Wendy Mackstutis moved to add authorization for the town manager to execute a Master Town Agreement with New England Smart Energy Group, LLC and an authorization for tax refund overpayments to the consent agenda; Ms. Yeisley seconded and the motion passed.
The minutes record the board's action to include the master agreement on the consent agenda and approve the consent items; the document does not include the contract text, financial terms, or a timeline for rollout. Town staff should provide the full agreement and any associated cost or escrow information before implementing programs under the agreement.
The board also read a proclamation recognizing April as Autism Awareness Month and approved a motion to light Eno Memorial Hall blue for April as part of the proclamation.
