The Rolla Planning and Zoning Commission on June 10 recommended that the Rolla City Council approve VAC25-04, a request to vacate a portion of 11th Street generally located west of Powell Street.
Chairperson Russell Schmidt opened the public hearing at 6:20 p.m., and City Planner Tom Coots presented the staff report. There were no citizen comments during the hearing, which closed at 6:24 p.m.
Commissioner Monty Jordan moved and Commissioner Monte Shields seconded a motion to recommend approval of the street vacation. The roll call vote was Ayes — Nathan Chirban, Kevin Crider, Monty Jordan and Monte Shields; Nays — none; Absent — Steve Davis, Janece Martin and Don Morris. The motion passed.
The commission's vote constitutes a recommendation to City Council; the council will take the final action on the street vacation request at a later date.
