Granby Board approves minutes, acknowledges resignation and makes two Commission on Aging appointments

At its Feb. 17 meeting the Board of Selectmen approved the Feb. 2, 2026 minutes, acknowledged the resignation of Kim Becker from the Commission on Aging, appointed Susan Hackett and John O’Connor to the Commission on Aging, heard the January budget report, and adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
The Town of Granby Board of Selectmen on Feb. 17 approved several routine items and heard departmental updates.
On a motion by Selectman Mark Neumann, seconded by Vice-Chairman Margaret Chapple, the Board voted 5-0-0 to approve the minutes of the Feb. 2, 2026 regular meeting as presented.
The Board acknowledged the resignation of Kim Becker from the Commission on Aging, effective Jan. 20, 2026, by a 5-0-0 vote on a motion by Margaret Chapple and seconded by Mark Neumann. The Board then approved two appointments recommended by the Democratic Town Committee: Susan Hackett to fill a vacancy with a term expiring Jan. 11, 2027, and John O’Connor to a full term expiring Jan. 10, 2028. That motion passed 5-0-0.
Finance Director Kimi Cheng presented the January 2026 Budget Operations Report, reviewing year-to-month spending trends and the percentage of the budget used by the Department of Public Works and the Police Department. The full budget and town manager project reports were available in the meeting packet and on the Town of Granby website.
First Selectman Mark Fiorentino had no report. Selectman Mark Neumann announced the Granby America 250 Committee will meet on Thursday, Feb. 26 and invited public participation. The Board adjourned at 7:25 p.m. on a 5-0-0 vote; the next regular meeting is March 2, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. in the Town Hall Meeting Room.
