MIDDLETON, Mass. โ The Middleton Housing Authority voted 3-0 on Feb. 19 to approve the apparent low bid of $26,739 from Hocel Remodeling for the community room roof, contingent on a favorable recommendation from the authority's architect.
Commissioner Karen McCafferty moved to accept the bid and Commissioner Douglas LeColst seconded the motion; the board recorded the 3-0 vote. The motion as recorded in the minutes specifies the approval is pending the architect's favorable recommendation rather than final contract award.
At the meeting, Recording Secretary Cynthia Dunn reported several maintenance updates. Dunn said J. Perez has completed handrails on two handicapped ramps and will perform concrete work when weather permits. She also said a notice to proceed was issued that day for replacement of bath fans at Memorial Drive and that a contractor visited the property to assess potential camera installations.
Dunn told the board that parking problems during recent snowstorms prompted the revocation of one resident parking space. The minutes do not specify the resident's name or the enforcement mechanism used; the board did not record further discussion or appeal in the minutes.
The board also voted to accept the regular meeting minutes of Jan. 15, 2026 (motion by Commissioner Karen McCafferty; second by Commissioner Douglas LeColst; vote 3-0). The board reviewed bills processed through January and the minutes note there were no questions about those bills.
Chairperson Maria Paikos called the meeting to order at 4:15 p.m. and the meeting adjourned at 5:00 p.m. The next regular meeting was scheduled for March 19, 2026.
