"We're not talking tens of thousands of dollars, but we have a $2,000 budget which is a little bit on the low side," one commissioner said. Mark and colleagues agreed to price the concept, estimate material and installation costs, and return to the commission with a specific request if additional funding is required; any increase would require a formal vote.
Next steps: Mark and staff will draft a materials budget and timeline and present the costed concept at a future meeting; commissioners said they will consult with the mayor’s office if the estimate requires a supplemental appropriation.
