Library reports new charging stations, America250 listing, and polling-place timing; elevator work delayed until September

At the July 9 meeting the director provided a brief set of facility and outreach updates: SNHU charging stations have been installed and are awaiting final testing and billing arrangements; the library—vents appear on the Connecticut America250 pages; and the main library will host polling for the August 11 primary.
The director said she had been in contact with Mike Casella about the charging stations and expected confirmation the next day that the stations were operational. She noted that staff still need to finalize how payment and billing will be handled and how receipts will route to SNHU.
"If they are up and running, I know Neil has to work on the to figure out the payment and how billing is going to take place and then how the money gets wired to SNHU," the director said.
On programming, the director said the library is listed on the state America250 site (with separate entries for Norwalk and South Norwalk) and expressed pride that the library's America250 programs are on the state page.
Regarding facilities, the director reminded trustees that the main library will serve as a polling place for the August 11 primary and said elevator work will not happen in August; staff expect the service/installation to occur in September but do not yet have a confirmed date.
Trustees asked staff to coordinate any joint press opportunities with SNHU when the charging stations come online.
