The Sterling Planning & Zoning Commission approved the excavation permit renewal for 81 Industrial Park Road on April 20, 2026, voting 3-0 to change the post-rain inspection requirement from a 1" event to a 2" event.
J. Faulise of Boundaries LLC, representing 81 IPR, LLC, reported that 5,088 cubic yards of material were excavated at the site in the previous 12 months, that no stormwater was observed leaving the property, and that all required inspections had been completed and reported to Towne Engineering. Based on that record, the applicant requested relief from the more frequent inspection schedule.
Commissioner Stephen Thompson moved to approve the renewal with the revised inspection-frequency condition; John Turban seconded the motion, which carried unanimously among the members present, 3-0. The commission's action requires the maintenance-frequency change to be implemented as a condition of the permit renewal.
The meeting minutes record the approval but do not include additional mitigation measures or monitoring beyond the adjusted inspection threshold. The commission did not attach a quote to the file; the motion and vote are recorded in the minutes.
