The Town of East Hampton Brownfields Redevelopment Agency confirmed a public outreach meeting tied to the town's Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD) for Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 6:30 P.M.
Commissioners said they plan to have VHB and Chris Anderson of UConn TAB attend to present materials and possible redevelopment options for properties in the Village Center. Ms. Willson is listed as the back-up attendee; Mr. Baldassario and Ms. Watkins plan to attend. Staff noted that UConn TAB confirmed full-time staff support and that student volunteers may assist pending confirmation.
Members also said they will hold a Feb. 3 meeting to coordinate outreach tasks and finalize what materials will be shown at the Feb. 18 event. The record notes that Chris Anderson has also provided support to DEEP on projects dealing with underground tanks, which the commission said could inform the outreach content.
Why it matters: The Feb. 18 event will give residents visuals and options for Village Center properties that the town is considering for redevelopment and remediation work. The commission said the outreach is intended to show potential reuse options and solicit resident input.
What’s next: Commission members will meet Feb. 3 to organize outreach and will invite VHB and UConn TAB to present at the Feb. 18 session.
