Staff recommended approval under the Secretary of the Interior standards for new construction in historic residential settings and the Ann Arbor Historic District design guidelines.
Commissioner Nisbett (review committee) told the commission the lot is deep and the addition would not materially change the view from the street; staff agreed. The applicant’s builder, Andrew Perrin of Todd Services, confirmed the addition would be a single story with a standing‑seam metal roof, lap siding to match the house, and three windows consistent with the house’s character.
No public comment was offered. Commissioner Nisbett moved to approve the certificate of appropriateness; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Staff noted that an egress window would be replaced to meet current code and that final construction must adhere to the approved materials and details.
