Southern Taskforce warns of local outfall repairs, proposes $40,000 for bus shelters and summer-camp funding

Rob Wagner, representing the Southern Taskforce, briefed the Joppa/Edgewood Community Advisory Board on a string of neighborhood projects and needs at the April 6 meeting.
Wagner said a local stormwater outfall should be noted for repair and urged the board to track it for follow-up. He proposed allocating $40,000 for new or replacement bus shelters and reported that Harford Square is receiving new items and that the Garden Club will plant trees in Joppatowne. Wagner said summer camps will receive additional funding to expand offerings.
Wagner also announced a Southern Taskforce meeting scheduled for May 14 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. He said a transit stop currently in Abingdon will be shifted to Aberdeen, a logistical change he urged residents to note.
The board did not take formal votes on these items during the meeting; Wagner asked attendees to bring concerns to the May Southern Taskforce meeting for more detailed planning.
