Arthur Doyle moved to approve the letter, Ron Israel seconded, and a roll call vote recorded eight yes votes from attending committee members.
Committee members also discussed the Clean Energy and Environment Legacy Transition (CELT) Municipal Fellowship, presented by Associate member Anna Morgan‑Barsamian. Morgan‑Barsamian said the fellowship places a fully funded undergraduate or graduate fellow in a municipality for roughly 20 hours per week over six months. The next cohort begins in June 2026 and municipal intake forms are due April 17; the committee recommended requesting a graduate‑level fellow and identified potential projects including helping Milton Housing Authority residents enroll in energy rebates, supporting home performance contracting, and aiding outreach for electrification coaching.
Ron Israel and others proposed a series of stakeholder and public engagement meetings organized by Climate Action Plan domain—Conservation, Buildings, Transportation, and Waste—to gather input and refine the plan. The committee discussed a pilot Conservation working group meeting and suggested timing and outreach approaches (e.g., farmers market presence, Arbor Day tie‑ins); they aim to complete several stakeholder meetings by fall 2026 and space them across a six‑to‑eight‑month period.
What happens next: CAPC's letter of support will be included in the EEA application; staff are expected to coordinate the fellowship intake if the town pursues it, and domain working groups will develop agendas and outreach plans for stakeholder meetings.
