Frederick County HRC confirms April awards event, seeks continued promotion and volunteer support

At its March 12 meeting the Frederick County Human Relations Commission confirmed plans for the 2026 Annual Awards event on Thursday, April 16, at the Arc on Market Street. Commissioners reported that the venue is confirmed and awards have been ordered. At the time of the meeting six tickets had been sold; commissioners were asked to continue promotion and outreach.
The minutes show 11 student award recipients have been identified, with two W-9 forms pending completion. Community honorees were shared confidentially with commissioners and will be publicly released at the appropriate time. Jeanine Harris volunteered to provide balloon arrangements for centerpieces. The commission estimated expected attendance between 80 and 120 people and noted that the program must be submitted at least one week in advance if the County Executive attends.
No formal budget changes were recorded in connection with the awards event at the March meeting.
