Treasurer remarks showed no changes to the budget, with a reported balance of $3,137.60.
Under New Business, Cindy Shubin moved to approve updated candidate interview questions and criteria with one amendment; Lisa Clark seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Commissioners also voted to participate as a vendor at an FCPS Racial Equity Event scheduled April 14, 2026, after a motion by Mari Lee and a second by Cindy Shubin.
At 7:08 p.m. Kap Kaplowitz moved, and Mari Lee seconded, a motion to enter a closed session “in accordance with Maryland Annotate[d] Code General Provisions Article, §3-305(b)(1)” to discuss personnel matters; the motion passed unanimously and the commission recessed into closed session. Open session resumed at 7:22 p.m., and Mari Lee moved—seconded by Lisa Clark—to recommend Jeanine Harris to the County Executive for appointment; that recommendation passed unanimously. Staff were directed to transmit the recommendation to the County Executive, and if approved the appointment will be placed on a County Council agenda for affirmation, subject to Council scheduling.
The commission adjourned at 7:27 p.m. The next regular meeting is scheduled for April 9, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Winchester Hall.
