HESSCO to merge into Old Colony Elder Services June 30; town elder-services cost reported at $850,000

E. Feldman reported during committee reports on May 18 that South Shore Elder Services will be merged into Old Colony Elder Services effective June 30, 2026. Feldman said Mass Home Care has awarded a consulting contract to plan for future elder services and that HESSCO is developing contingency plans to secure personal care staff, home health aides and case managers to serve consumers’ homes during World Cup games.
Feldman also reported that the total cost of all elder services for the town of Sharon from January through March was $850,000. M. Kempner provided local FSCOA (regional seniors’ council) operational notes: a membership mailing scheduled for May 21–22 and an annual meeting on June 4 to decide FY27 officers.
