Dr. Joanne Welch said she would email Parade Coordinator Ryan Quimby to ask whether the parade can include a designated sensory-friendly area similar to the one used during Holyoke’s St. Patrick’s Day event. Commission member Kelly Phillips noted that the local organization Totally Adaptive will participate in this year’s parade.
Commissioners requested that staff compile recommendations for sensory-friendly event planning and consider posting a list of sensory-friendly events on the Commission’s web page to help residents identify accessible viewing options.
