The chair of the Washington County Planning Board announced the meeting would be canceled after officials said they could not secure the four members required for a quorum by 5 p.m.
"I hate to do this, but we are not gonna be able to get a quorum tonight," the chair said, adding apologies to attendees and noting the difficulty of assembling enough members.
The chair said staff and members had attempted to locate additional board members and waited briefly before concluding the meeting could not proceed. "All the items will be moved to the next regularly scheduled planning board meeting," the chair said, confirming that the board will reconvene on Aug. 13 at the same time and place.
Because the meeting was canceled before business was called up, no presentations were heard and no motions or votes were taken. Attendees were asked to return on Aug. 13 and be ready to share public comments; the chair again expressed regret for the inconvenience.
The cancellation means all agenda items scheduled for this session will carry forward to the Aug. 13 meeting for discussion and any formal actions. The planning board did not set an alternative date for special consideration of any individual item during this announcement.
