Early council approves consent agenda, sets water hearing and adopts mowing-fee increase

Mayor Sharon Ann Irwin called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.; Councilor Bill Cougill moved and Councilor Becky Blackman seconded approval of the consent agenda. On a show of hands the motion passed with votes from Councilors Brian Pickhinke, Summer Schmitt, Becky Blackman and Bill Cougill.
Councilor Brian Pickhinke moved and Councilor Summer Schmitt seconded to set a public hearing for July 5, 2022, on the water treatment facility and the 2nd Street water-main funded activities; the motion passed on a show of hands.
Councilor Bill Cougill offered Resolution 22-11 to increase mowing charges for nuisance properties to $100; Councilor Schmitt seconded and the resolution passed on a roll call vote (Ayes: Pickhinke, Schmitt, Blackman, Cougill; Absent: Langner). Mayor Irwin declared the resolution adopted.
Other actions taken included approval of building permits #793, 796, 797 and 798 (moved by Councilor Pickhinke, seconded by Councilor Blackman) and approval of a public-works equipment purchase and a seasonal part-time hire described in the public-works report.
The meeting was closed at 9:45 p.m. following a motion by Councilor Schmitt and second by Councilor Cougill; minutes were signed by Mayor Sharon Ann Irwin and City Clerk Lexi Bainbridge.
