Susquehanna Township on May 28 authorized staff to apply for a Strategic Management Planning Program (STMP) Phase 2 grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development to support a comprehensive digital modernization of administrative, financial and operational systems.
Township Manager Theresa Eberly presented Resolution 2026-R-07 and said the Township’s STMP report identified an urgent need to modernize core systems. Cost estimates presented to the board totaled $376,696, with a proposed grant request of $188,348. Eberly said the Township does not expect to learn whether it received the grant until August.
Commissioner Sean Sanderson moved to approve the resolution authorizing the grant application; Commissioner Fred Faylona seconded and the motion carried unanimously. During discussion Commissioner Richard Norford asked whether payroll would be handled by a separate vendor; Eberly said payroll would most likely remain separate but could be integrated if the chosen vendor offered a payroll module. No final vendor selection was made at the workshop.
