The Sassamon Trace Golf Course Golf Committee was told March 19 that a bunker renovation project has been put out to bid and that overall course revenue is expected to exceed FY25/26 projections.
Eric Fontaine reported that the bid for the bunker project closes on March 27 and that the committee hopes a contractor can begin work in mid-September. Superintendent Kurt McDowell said spring course set-up is starting and that the bunker project is a planned capital maintenance item currently in the bidding phase.
Staff provided a revenue update, saying play was down during the fall because of poor weather but that overall revenue was in good shape and is expected to exceed projections for the fiscal year.
Committee members asked about the bunker timeline and seasonal impacts on operations; no contract award was recorded during the meeting. The committee set its next meeting for June 18 at 9 a.m. The meeting adjourned at 9:37 a.m.
