Board approves $62,000 replacement for totaled marked patrol vehicle

The Board authorized the purchase of a replacement, fully marked patrol vehicle after being briefed that a 2023 Ford Police Interceptor was declared a total loss following a crash while responding to an emergency call on Dec. 31, 2025. The insurance settlement of $29,625 was deposited into Police-330 fund. The replacement vehicle purchase includes the 2026 Utility Police Interceptor unit price ($47,000) and lighting/accessories/build-out ($15,000) for a total of $62,000; the balance of $32,375 will come from the Police-330 fund.
Police Chief Underwood answered Board questions about procurement and funding. Trustee Sam Harris moved the purchase and Trustee Gary Wall seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
