Waterford delays provisioning-center application window to December; sets daily cutoff at 2 p.m.

The Waterford Township Board voted on Feb. 23 to delay and cap the acceptance window for medical marihuana provisioning center applications.
The Board approved a resolution moving the application acceptance dates from April 6, 2026, to Dec. 1–15, 2026, and amended daily acceptance hours so submissions will be accepted each day only until 2:00 p.m. The final motion to adopt the dates and the amended hours was moved by Trustee Jeff Gilbert and seconded by Treasurer Steve Thomas. The vote was Yeas — Anthony Bartolotta, Steve Thomas, Jeff Gilbert, Marie E. Hauswirth and Gary Wall; Nays — Kimberly Markee and Sam Harris.
Board members cited the need for additional review time for application materials and forms, and Clerk Kimberly Markee expressed concern that late-in-the-day applicant arrivals would cause overtime in the Clerk’s Office. The Board also reaffirmed existing application and renewal fee amounts ($5,000 nonrefundable) and approved bond forms and related filing procedures as restated from prior resolutions.
The ordinance cited in materials is the Township Medical Marihuana Facility Licensing Ordinance (Ordinance Nos. 2020-005, 2020-006 and 2023-005). The Clerk’s office will post the approved application forms and bond templates on the township website for prospective applicants.
