The Ottawa Historic Preservation Commission reviewed proposed signage plans and expressed reservations about the image proposed for a Charles Lindbergh sign at City Hall.
Commission member Chuck Stanley stated that the Commission did not favor the photograph currently proposed for the Charles Lindbergh signage, indicating commissioners want a different image or treatment. The Commission did not finalize a replacement image at the March 12 meeting.
Separately, commission member Bob Eschbach suggested installing signage to mark the Marquette School finials located along Canal Street, proposing a small interpretive marker to highlight that architectural feature. No formal motions or votes were taken on either signage topic at the March 12 meeting; further discussion or staff follow-up would be required to implement changes or new markers.
