Chappaqua school board completes reorganization, approves routine appointments and operational designations

At its July 6 reorganization meeting, the Chappaqua Central School District board swore in newly elected officials, appointed district officers for 2026–27 and approved a long consent agenda including contracts, depositories and petty cash accounts.
The Chappaqua Central School District board of education completed its annual reorganization on July 6, approving a slate of administrative appointments and routine operational designations for the 2026–27 school year.
A motion to appoint Britney Comstock as district clerk was approved and Comstock was sworn into office. Alyssa Dorfman was sworn in to another term and elected president of the board; Allison Steinbauer was elected vice president after a randomized voting order and sworn in.
“Thank you for putting your trust in me,” President Alyssa Dorfman said after her election, adding that she looks forward to “a really productive and, wonderful year ahead.” A small number of vocal objections were recorded during one early roll call but the motions carried by voice vote.
The board approved many routine appointments, including school district clerk pro tempore; district treasurer and deputy treasurer; central treasurer for extracurricular activity funds; attendance officers; asbestos management plan designee; claims auditor; chief emergency officer and co-chief emergency officer; ADA and discrimination compliance officers; McKinney-Vento homeless liaisons; impartial hearing officers as determined by the New York State Department of Education; Medicaid compliance officers; payroll certification officers; property control manager; purchasing agent; records management and access officer; district attorney and independent auditor engagements; and Title IX coordinators and investigators.
The board also designated JPMorgan Chase, NYClass, NYLAF and TD Bank as depositories for district funds for the period beginning 07/01/2026 and ending 06/30/2027, authorized district treasurer Jose Guevara and deputy treasurer to take investment actions for the school year, and approved petty cash accounts with $100 per listed school. The treasurer's bond for $100,000 as executed by NYSER was approved.
In addition, the board approved a motion to adopt policy updates (policy 9040) reflecting the new pre-K and elementary director position and moved a lengthy consent agenda covering CSE summaries, travel allowances, acting principals, contracts and donations.
