Board approves consent agenda, personnel recommendations and two agreements with Ball Chatham and UIS

The board unanimously approved the consent agenda (items 11.2–11.12) after Doctor Jordan summarized the items, which included a roof replacement bid for Douglas (paid from the operations and maintenance fund), a stop‑loss insurance proposal, renewal of property and casualty insurance with a slight premium decrease, and a cybersecurity insurance renewal for $66,970 covering $2,000,000.
A motion to adopt personnel recommendations was moved and seconded and passed with six aye votes. Miss Russell presented the personnel recommendations on behalf of the superintendent.
On a separate motion the board approved an intergovernmental agreement with Ball Chatham Community Unit School District 5 that, as read into the record, allows specified property to be detached from one district and annexed into the other to provide real property for Springfield Public School District 186 and to develop an agreement with the University of Illinois Springfield to construct and operate an elementary school on the north side of the UIS campus. Doctor Jordan read the whereas clauses and the board recorded six aye votes in favor; Ball Chatham had previously passed the agreement on June 24, 2026.
The board also approved a collaboration agreement with the University of Illinois Springfield to identify opportunities for educational collaboration and joint grant prospects. All motions described above were moved, seconded, and carried with recorded aye votes.
