Alex said maintenance staff had reviewed locations and recommended spots that would not interfere with mowing or foundation integrity.
A motion to approve the elementary memorial tree request passed by voice vote. Earlier in the meeting the consent agenda carried; the board recorded donations including $20 to the Random Acts of Kindness fund and a $10,000 gift from the West Salem Elementary PTO toward the elementary playground.
The board discussed placement considerations and confirmed the district would coordinate final plantings with maintenance staff.
