The first amendment adds explicit language that a contractor or subcontractor must obtain a town license, a change staff and members said simply cleans up unclear wording. “The addition is letter b where it calls out specifically that a contractor or subcontractor shall obtain a license,” the Chair said when opening the public hearing.
The second amendment clarifies that subdivisions and commercial or industrial developments should present at the board’s site‑plan review so the town’s professional services can coordinate review and save applicants time and money. The Chair said the change will “give us the opportunity in a public meeting then to direct our professional services to support the board in that review.”
No substantive public opposition was recorded during either hearing. After brief discussion, a member moved and seconded a favorable recommendation to the town council for each ordinance; roll-call votes approved both motions.
Both items now go to the town council for public hearing and final action; staff said a draft of the RDC-related resolution and additional documentation will be provided for the board’s August meeting.
