Pineville council accepts drainage project as complete, OKs truck lease and emergency agreement

At its Dec. 9 meeting, the Pineville City Council approved several administrative resolutions covering infrastructure, equipment and emergency preparedness.
The council accepted a contract for MJL Construction LLC for the Lily Scott Drainage Improvements as substantially complete; the chair thanked State Representative Mike Johnson for assistance with funding. The council then approved a lease‑purchase agreement with Cadence Equipment Finance (a division of Cadence Bank) for a Freightliner M2‑106 garbage truck. The chair said the lease is an equipment purchase arrangement and the motion carried after a second.
The council also approved a resolution authorizing the mayor to negotiate and enter into an agreement with the Rapides Parish Police Jury and the governor's office of Homeland Security concerning emergency preparedness for the property at 136 Woodridge Circle. Finally, council approved a resolution declaring certain public works and police department items surplus for sale, donation, auction or disposal as necessary.
All of these items were moved, seconded and approved with standard motions; detailed contract amounts, lease terms and specific surplus inventory were not read into the record during the meeting.
