Albany County approves adult and juvenile treatment contracts; juvenile award cut reduces capacity

The Albany County Board approved two treatment contracts affecting adult and juvenile court-supervised substance-abuse programs.
County staff presented a contract with the Wyoming Judicial Branch for the Albany County Court Supervised Treatment Program covering 07/01/2026–06/30/2028 with funding discussed in the range of about $381,386–$381,416. The board approved the contract by voice vote.
For juvenile services, staff and Heather reported that the county received $98,301 for an integrated juvenile drug treatment program for the same two-year period — roughly half of what had been requested. Heather said the award funds three positions for a year rather than six positions last year and that the reduced budget will limit the number of youth the program can serve. "We were only funded for 3 positions for a year. We were funded for 6 last year," Heather said.
The board approved the juvenile contract. Commissioners noted the funding reduction and asked staff to monitor impacts on service capacity and outcomes.
