Resolution 62 (Fauna cooperative agreement): Councilman Nielsen moved to adopt Resolution 62 authorizing the mayor to enter a cooperative endeavor agreement with Fauna (Friends All United for Natchitoches Animals) to provide funding for community spay/neuter services. The resolution directs an annual payment of $7,500 to support vouchers for residents seeking spay/neuter procedures; Leah Forsyth, vice president of Fauna, clarified the funds are for community vouchers rather than Fauna’s shelter intake. The resolution was adopted on roll call.
Agenda amendment and Resolution 063 (grievance committee): The council voted to amend the agenda to add Resolution 063. Resolution 063 appoints Gina Sirance, Dana Williams, Charles Hall, John Dunn and Joe Hamilton to the city grievance committee; council noted the ordinance requires no more than three nonemployee residents and at least two city employees on the committee. The resolution was adopted on roll call.
