Oxford committee to solicit bids for two hunting lots; discusses snow‑removal enforcement

At the Dec. 17 meeting, the Oxford Township Committee authorized Township counsel to prepare a resolution to solicit bids for two hunting lots on a township lake property.
Committee member Georgette Miller raised that the township has three hunting spots and asked whether the lots could be put out to bid; the consensus was to solicit bids for two of the lots. After a five‑minute recess, Mayor Gerald Norton moved to "authorize Mr. Wenner’s office to prepare a resolution for solicitation of bids for 2 of the lots." Georgette Miller seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Mayor Norton also reported problems caused by a heavier-than-expected winter storm that created parking issues. "We need to come up with better wording in our ordinance and what we can do to enforce this," he said, and said he would meet with the police chief and staff to develop enforcement language; the township added signage on Wall Street.
The Committee carried one Old Business item (OYA request) to the next meeting and scheduled follow-up discussions on veterans-property lists and the proposed OWL program.
